LCYN 500MG TAB contains levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, effectively stopping bacterial growth and reproduction. Levofloxacin is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Each tablet contains 500mg of the active ingredient, providing potent antimicrobial action. The medication is typically taken orally once or twice daily, depending on the infection type and severity. Common uses include treatment of community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, and complicated skin infections. It is also used for certain sexually transmitted infections and intra-abdominal infections. Take as directed by your healthcare provider. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve. Avoid taking with dairy products, antacids, or iron supplements as they may reduce absorption. Stay well-hydrated during treatment.
