XIGA 5MG contains dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by increasing glucose excretion through urine, helping to lower blood sugar levels effectively.
This medication is indicated for adults with type 2 diabetes as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. It may also be used in patients with heart failure or chronic kidney disease.
Take one tablet orally once daily, preferably in the morning, with or without food. Follow your healthcare provider's dosing instructions carefully.
Common side effects may include genital infections, increased urination, and dehydration. Ensure adequate fluid intake during treatment. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
