Norplat-S Tablet 75/75 mg (10’s) is converted into its active metabolite through the action of the enzyme carboxylesterase-1. The active metabolite functions as a platelet aggregation inhibitor by irreversibly binding to P2Y12 ADP receptors on platelets. This irreversible binding blocks ADP from interacting with the P2Y12 receptor, thereby inhibiting the activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex and preventing platelet aggregation.
